The Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Program is designed to help Indigenous people improve their skills and find employment through training and skills development. We have recently changed from the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) to ISET. Our goal is to provide assistance, funding for training and skills development. We help our community members find employment and polish employment skills. We are funded through Service Canada to give our members the skills required to find employment and fill job gaps. We assist youth, woman, single parents, mature workers, persons with disabilities and those experiencing a career transition. We serve our unemployed, underemployed and employed as long as they are able to further their training. The ISET Program also provides daycare on-reserve for those who seek daycare for their children while in training.

The overall goal of HLFN ISET is to improve the quality of life for members:

  • Decrease social dependence
  • Improve economic independence
